The Unattended Moment as Paffard describes “….brief flashes of experience…so out of the ordinary as to seem to belong to a dimension other than the quotidian, to be epiphanies of another order of reality: unattended moments in the sense that they do not seem to fit into our ordinary pattern of experience…”.
To me it appears that everything exists as wavelengths; be it light, sound, heartbeat or emotion. The transition of experiences and illuminations between dimensions (if it is possible) would surely be crossed when wavelengths coincide, relate, resonate.
I have created “Resonance” to represent such a wavelength tearing between dimensions and elements. Perhaps events or emotions can be recorded in the stone or travel through the ether, the void of space to be unlocked and experienced when the vibrations can coincide, resonate.
The smooth, featherlike surface represents the air, atmosphere, space.
The more granular surface depicts the earth, land, soil.
I wanted to connect to Earth’s existence by using a sand from the Kalahari Desert mixed with the clay to provide authentic substance and texture.
When we experience the Unattended Moment, it brings with it a glimpse of understanding and together a unity, an energy that binds us all.
